Treating Inflammation

What are some proven treatments to help reduce chronic inflammation? *Always discuss any treatments with a medical provider, certified nutritionist, or registered dietitian.


Supplements

  • Vitamins A

  • Vitamin C

  • Vitamin D

  • Zinc

  • Krill Oil

  • DHA/EPA

  • Turmeric

  • Curcumin

  • Ginger

  • Garlic


Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) - these are not for long term use

  • Ibuprofen

  • Aspirin

  • Naproxen


Steroid injections (You should not have more than 3 steroid injections in the same body part per year.)


Diet

  • Oily fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel)

  • Leafy greens (kale, spinach)

  • Olive Oil

  • Tomatoes

Avoid

  • Fried foods

  • Cured meats (deli meats, hot dogs)

  • Refined oils

  • Trans fats

  • Refined carbohydrates
